Default Gun Control is terrible!

http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2008...ot_dad_ov.html

Where would we ever be without our easily-in-reach guns that anyone could pick up?

I bet some anti-gun-control people are wearing paper bags over their heads right about now.

well there's a difference between anti gun control and being a dumbass who leaves firearms easily accessible. Most anti gun control people probably consider these people idiots for leaving their gun so easily accessed and not raising a kid who respected proper firearms use.

Sad disturbing all in one. It makes me glad I have no firearms in the house but to be honest I don’t need them. If the need arrived I have a pair of escrima sticks with in reach and that would be more than efficient.

How is this related to gun control? The pistol used was locked in a safety box in the owners bedroom. Their son had to intentionally break into it to get the gun. This was premeditated murder flat out. This wasn't some negligent dipshit leaving a loaded .45 sitting on the living room coffee table with toddlers strolling by....this was an angry teen attempting to kill his parents with his fathers pistol so he could try to make it look like a murder/suicide.
Still not sure how this is relevant to gun control...if nothing else this still proves that people kill people, not guns...guns are just tools.

Sorry, but this has nothing to do with gun control. As stated before, the gun was kept in a safe that was locked. That is gun control. The fact that the idiot couldn't handle his parents taking away Halo 3 is just stupid. That is a HUGE dumbass getting a gun, not a gun control problem.

Ever wonder why mass murders with guns happen in "Gun Free Zones"?

This case has nothing to do with gun control. And everything to do with a petulant child acting in rage. Certainly not trained as to what a gun can do. I am an anti-gun control nut. And I proudly raise my head up, not ducking and hiding.

If there wasn't a gun there and a knife, guess what would have happened? Would you be here bashing knives and the need for more knife control?

zzzz If they just balanced Guild Wars perfectly, we wouldn't NEED nerfs and skill changes.

This is not a gun control problem, this is a case of dipshits with weapons. I have a good 10-20 shotguns/rifles/a pistol in my gun closet for hunting, and guess what, no body has ever been killed by any of them, you know why? Everyone that uses them has been taught proper gun control and to respect firearms. If we take away guns from law-abiding citizens all we do is empower the criminals. Criminals will always get guns.

If you walk in to a bank are you more likely to proceed with robbing the bank if:

A) The innocent citizens minding their own business are carrying a concealed weapon and can use it to their defense

or

B) The innocent citizens minding their own business are not carrying any weapons and are completely defenseless

HMMMMMMM

A knife is a close range weapon. Someone with no research or training with a knife is not going to strike fatal blows on two people in the same room. Some victims get stabbed 10+ times because the person using the knife is trying to guarantee the murder succeeds; and stabbing someone that many times is a sure way to get locked up long term. This kid was also 1 of 2 with a gun, which is a much deadlier weapon.

Gun crimes basically go unpunished (for the end result) in this country because it gets treated like a few second lapse in judgment. The only people who earn the time are those showing premeditation (purchase, research, and reloading). If that kid opened the box and there was a difficult (to kill with) weapon, he would have had to think about what he was doing. And with his brain the way it currently is, I'm not sure he would have figured it out.

Pretty dangerous to have this kid on the streets anyway, even operating a car for that matter. He wasn't going to get intervention until it was too late. Safety locks need to be on the actual guns to make up for the people who fail to store them.

Katana do well for killing or mortally wounding intruders.

The world should revert to martial weapons, and get rid of all firearms. A more elegant weapon from a more civilized time.
